What's the reason of the title from Foreign movies have your names changed in the Brazil?

This is a interesting ask... I don’t know the reason for which the Firms of Dubbing in the Brazil make this type of moving. Here are some popular movies with this “strange” translation:

Scary Movie [Todo Mundo em Pânico]. Why not: “Filme Assustador”?
Saw [Jogos Mortais]. Why not: 'Viu'?
Home Alone [Esqueceram de Mim]. Why not: 'Sozinho em Casa'?
Final Destination [Premonição]. Why not: 'Destino Final'?

Well, I think that the success of the movie depends how much the title will seem interesting.
Until in the USA before the movie be sale, it raisin a process with the name of title, to check out if it is really a nice title for the public and the sale of the movie.

Now, think with me: Would you watch “Titanic” if it was called “Titânico”?

Bem, eu acho que o sucesso do filme depende de quão o título parecerá interessante.
Até nos EUA antes do filme ser vendido, passa por um processo com o nome do título, para verificar se realmente é um título legal para o público e venda do filme.
